Recipe for DIY Pimm's

Pimm's is a traditional English summer drink. You can buy ready-made Pimm's, but if you happen to know the secret recipe, you can make your own (which is not quite the same, but comes pretty close).

To make the Pimm's-type concentrate (like the stuff you buy in a bottle), mix the following ingredients together:

  • London Dry Gin, 1 measure
  • Red vermouth, 1 measure
  • Orange curaƧao, 1/2 measure

Pour into a jug, over ice.
Dilute with three times the volume of chilled lemonade or Seven-up.

Add sliced cucumber, mint leaves and sliced orange. Also add borage (Borago officinalis) leaves if you can find some.

You can add sliced strawberries, apple, lemon etc if you wish -- although some object to such 'fruit salad' concoctions.

Serve in half pint or pint glasses.
